Cat bond funds – A buoyant but constrained market

jeudi 20 août 2026
Reinsurance – Catastrophe-bond funds now hold €37.7 billion in assets as of June 2026, a 71.4 % surge in just three years, according to Morningstar. Yet the market remains highly concentrated, with some of the largest dedicated “cat-bond” vehicles now closed to new investors. That restricts access to these funds, which, despite higher fees, have significantly outperformed traditional bonds over the past five years.
